What's an event?+
An event is a visit to your website (i.e. a pageview) by either a human or an artificial agent. BotSights needs to process both types in order to distinguish between them. You can see your event usage in your account settings.
How do I know how many events I need?+
Agents make up about half of all website traffic. You can estimate how many events you'll need by doubling your human monthly visit count from your traditional analytics service. For example, if you see 50,000 monthly visits in Google Analytics, you would need about 100,000 BotSights events.
What happens if I exceed my monthly event count?+
The free plan has a hard limit — tracking pauses until next month. For paid plans, tracking continues uninterrupted. We'll reach out over email if you're consistently exceeding your plan's limit and help you find the right tier.
Can I use one API key on multiple websites?+
No. Each project is tied to a specific domain. Your API key only works for the domain you configured in your project settings. To track multiple websites, create a separate project for each one.
What integrations do you support?+
We support WordPress (via a lightweight plugin), any Cloudflare-proxied website (via a Worker script), and Cloudflare Enterprise (via Logpush). More integrations are coming soon.
How does AI citation tracking work?+
When an AI chatbot like ChatGPT, Claude, or Perplexity fetches your page to include in a response, we detect and log that visit. We also track when human users click through to your site from AI platforms, so you can see both citations and resulting traffic.
Is my data private?+
Yes. We anonymize human visitor IP addresses and never set cookies or load JavaScript on your visitors' browsers. Bot IP addresses are stored for analysis purposes. Your data is never shared with third parties.
Can I cancel anytime?+
Yes. You can cancel your subscription at any time from your account settings. You'll keep access until the end of your billing period. No questions asked.
